Lewis County Fire District 5 Commissioners


Fire Commissioner – Sam Patrick

Commissioner Sam Patrick was elected to the Lewis County Fire Districts Board of Commissioners to serve a six-year term in 2020. Commissioner Patrick now serves as the Board’s Chairman.

Commissioner Patrick’s professional experience spans 42 years between his time in the fire service as well as law enforcement. Not only has he served in these roles but has also taught several different specialized certification classes.

Commissioner Patrick currently serves the City of McCleary as their Chief of Police. He adds this newest title to others in his other long service such as a Firefighter/EMT, City Council Member, National Instructor for Train the Trainer EMT Tech for Neo-Natal, State Evaluator, Certified Fire Investigator, Officer and Deputy Fire Marshal, and Dispatcher. The majority of Sam’s career has been in serving Lewis and Thurston Counties.

Commissioner Patrick brings a wealth of public service knowledge and experience to Lewis County Fire District 5. As Chairperson, he reminds everyone they are welcome to attend the Board of Fire Commissioners’ monthly meetings.


Fire Commissioner – Sandra White

Commissioner Sandra White joined Lewis County Fire District’s Board of Commissioners when she was appointed to fill a two-year seat on the Board and later was elected to a six-year term. Sandra brings a long career of administrative, fiscal, and project management experience to the Lewis County Fire District 5 Board of Commissioners. Commissioner White advocates the team approach to the issues facing Fire District 5 encompassing community needs, never forgetting “Together ….. we make a difference.


Fire Commissioner – Mike Goodwillie

Mike Goodwillie was born and raised in Lewis County, living most of his life in Napavine. Graduating from W.F. West in 2001, he then studied criminal justice at Centralia College. In 2008 he joined the fire service as a volunteer. In 2012 Mike followed in his father’s footsteps and was hired full-time as a Firefighter/EMT. His passion for serving has led him to participate in the Scott Firefighter Stair Climb, which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on over six occasions. In his off time, Mike runs a business teaching fire training and CPR and enjoys golf and spending time with family and friends.
